First Beach

Beach Theme - Regular Entry

There are so many beach-theme soaps out there, I never thought this was a thing. My favorite thing this month was just browsing for hours at all the incredible beach soap ideas that are out there, and to begin my practice, I decided to give the most common one a try. The image above is what you see most when you begin your search. Sand at the bottom, sea with white foam and blue sky with clouds. I gave this a shot. Lots of lessons learned! I needed to change my formula to keep it more fluid, and also maybe try a deeper mold to have more flexibility as the design moved up the mold.

Second try…70s beach…with some bubbles.

This try was an attempt at line work and wall pours cut lengthwise. I loved the colors, but more control was needed because I was rushing at the end so my trace would not thicken on me. I love the 70s look of this one!

Almost final try. Another wall pour soap with some color adjustments. I wanted to incorporate a sunset and dark sky. It’s amazing how one batch can yield so many different looks! I love the abstract look.

And because I had so much fun with all this, I decided to give it one final final shot. I wanted to actually have a better plan and have it be successful. I wanted to try an ombre soap that would have a sunset but this time, I had an image in mind to try to imitate.

I really wanted a pretty sunset behind my water.

Last beach…at sunset.
